About Freeman
When I was 16, I moved to NYC and attended a high school with a special focus on music education. I went on to attend and graduate from the Jacobs School of Music at IU and stayed to pursue a master's degree.
I’ve taken a special interest in education and have studied cello pedagogy and early childhood education. This, in combination with thousands of hours of practice and hundreds of hours of instruction, has given me the tools to identify and correct any issue a student might be facing.

I’ve been playing cello for 14 years, but had very little instruction for the first 7. At 16 I finally began consistent lessons and finally after years of struggle and frustration I was able to get past the plateau and excel!
My experience taught me how to solve extremely difficult problems with playing the cello and how to overcome any technical difficulties. Now I want to use the in-depth understanding I developed about cello technique and musical interpretation to help others that struggled the same way I did.
Music lessons must be personally tailored to every student based on their needs. I strongly believe in helping each student to achieve their goals, whether that means auditioning for conservatory, or simply developing the skills to enjoy the instrument.
I believe in making music lessons accessible and affordable for all. You shouldn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars a month on lessons to receive professional instruction!

I offer a free 30-minute consultation/introductory lesson over Zoom/FaceTime.
30-minute lessons online: $20
30-minute lessons at your home: $20
30-minute lessons at Indiana University: $15
Transportation fee is $5.00 per 15 minutes of driving (round trip, rounding down to the quarter hour) for in-home lessons.
