About Nomkhosi
My name is Mam Khosi from Johannesburg. Teaching has been my calling, and I feel I have not yet even responded to it. Having a chance to teach has taught me that one can never say never enough nor quit teaching or learning as teachers are in high demand in SA, especially with Afrikaans being most likely the 6th language for other learners. Well, teaching the most difficult subject, especially for non-Afrikaans native speakers, has proven to be very tricky. However, in my lessons, I do my best to make it very fun and interesting as it's already devastating for learners who are non-native Afrikaans nor English speaking children. With every aspect taught or in simple sections taught, I make sure that learners understand clearly and grasp carefully with an emphasis on remembering and not just learning to pass time. With focus initiated, I give learners a chance to ask questions where they are confused or don't understand. Hence, I prefer reading and writing as it gives more platform for having dialogue teaching with learners. For example, when we read a paragraph or story, we explain in full detail and give learners a chance to analyze characters and the story so we are all on the same page.
