About Nappy

I'm a founding member of a Grammy-nominated contemporary jazz band, I've recorded as a guest percussionist on over 150 recordings with different artists from many genres, and for the past 25 years, I also perform live accompaniment with world-class electronic music DJs. I also have years of experience playing percussion in Caribbean and African dance classes, plus years of experience playing for actual Haitian Vodun & Cuban Santeria ceremonies. I can show you not only the drum patterns, but how they can work in modern music.

About the lesson

With me, you'll learn all the interlocking parts of each rhythm, plus how to solo over the whole pattern. I'll also teach you the cultural history of each rhythm. We'll start the rhythms slower, but by the end you'll be playing very uptempo.
