About Yewande

As a dance instructor/choreographer, I've always felt it was important for me to have fun. I've been into fitness since I could remember, from weight class in high school to playing multiple sports. Fitness became a lifestyle and it was one I would keep till this day. Came to America from Nigeria at a very young age and it's normal to forget your language and some things you learned from back home but I was determined to keep my culture alive. I continued speaking my language, dancing our traditional dance and as I grew into my adult life, it became my main source of fitness. I realized, if I can see results and have this much fun getting healthy, why not teach others how to do the same. Yayafitness was born from my passion to stay fit and help others find their fitness goals through Afrobeat Dance Fitness.

About the lesson

I've been teaching for over 8 years and love what I do. Before the pandemic I was teaching at 2 different studios in Atlanta, GA but now I’m doing 1-on-1 sessions via Zoom and private in-person sessions. My class is not just a dance class but also incorporates fitness so you get a workout. I have an app you can download as well (concealed information) Search “Yayafitness”

Perfect! Yewande “Yaya” is very amazing as my dance instructor. This year I want to do things that I thought I could never do but admire on others. She makes it possible for you to learn those complicated dance moves one step at a time. I’ll be returning for more dance lessons.
