About Mia

My name is Mia, and I've been attending classes at a local university for over a year. For two years, I've been self-studying Japanese and talking face to face with natives. I love cultural differences and languages, so I'm working toward international affairs as my major! If you have similar interests, especially in language, we have a lot to talk about already. I've been teaching Japanese to students at the university, and we always have a great time! I have a great understanding of the language, and even began learning Korean (which is shockingly similar)!

About the lesson

Having taught Japanese to many people in person, I can tell our lessons online will be full of exciting conversations as I guide you through the process of learning Japanese. Depending on your level, whether beginner or intermediate, we can start the lessons off differently.
If Japanese isn't new to you, we can start off by identifying the skills you want to strengthen. For example, you may be able to speak and read well, but have trouble listening or writing. If you feel like you want to improve to a higher level, we can do that too.
If you are a beginner, don't worry! During our first few lessons, we will go over study techniques and cater them to your unique schedule. I have many free resources I've accumulated overtime. If needed, I can also teach you Hiragana and Katakana first. These are the writing systems that are essential to know! Once we have that out of the way, we can start on grammar (the fun part)! Gradually, we will learn Kanji to help support your growing Japanese level.
If you are like me, you've probably fallen in love with Japanese culture and decided to learn. Maybe you are taking classes and need some extra support! Either way, language learning is a process that takes a lot of triumph and error, so be patient with yourself! I hope you choose me and my lessons to support your language-learning journey.
