About Maria

As an experienced piano, singing and music theory tutor, I always assess my student's needs prior to creating a personalised lesson plan. Every student is different and I feel it is most important to understand exactly what is needed so we can achieve our respective goals. I incorporate varying aspects of music into our lesson, including both practical and theoretical learning. In terms of syllabus, I follow ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) which includes taking exams. If this is not the right route for my student, I also follow a personalised approach focusing on exactly what they are looking to gain from their lessons. In addition, I find it important to have a structure to every lesson, so that even when the student is working without me in between lessons, they have a very clear understanding of their objectives, as well as what they have accomplished. Ultimately, we are working towards a goal and I am there to facilitate the learning process and create a fun environment. Looking forward to hearing from you!
