About Abdullah

My name is Abdullah, and I am currently in Year 12, preparing for my International A-Levels. As a recent IGCSE student myself, I clearly remember how stressful and overwhelming exam preparation can feel. That experience is what motivates me to tutor and support other students through the same journey. Having recently completed my IGCSEs with strong results, I understand the syllabus, exam style, and pressures students face, and I use this insight to teach in a calm, structured, and supportive way. I aim to build students’ confidence, help them understand concepts properly, and show them how to perform at their best in exams. I take my responsibilities as a tutor seriously and strive to create a professional, focused, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is highly exam-focused and student-centred. Since I sat my Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics exam less than a year ago and achieved an A*, I understand exactly how the exam is structured, what examiners look for, and the common mistakes students make. In my lessons, I teach students the exact blueprint and strategies I used myself, alongside techniques I wish I had known earlier, to help them maximise marks efficiently.

My teaching methodology focuses on:
Breaking down difficult concepts into simple, logical steps
-Clear explanations followed by guided practice
-Emphasis on exam technique, past paper questions, and time management
-Identifying weak areas quickly and targeting them with focused practice

Lessons are typically 1 hour long, but I am flexible and happy to extend sessions by 10–15 minutes if a student needs extra help or clarification.

Although I have not yet taught online students professionally, I have tutored my sister, helping her improve from a C to an A in just one month, which strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to different learning speeds.

My lessons are aimed at IGCSE Edexcel Mathematics students, particularly those in Years 9–11, whether they are aiming to pass confidently or push for top grades.
