About Alex
Hi!
I have just finished 2 years at Sir John Deane's College, where I studied A-Levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, achieving A*s in all 3 (and 97% in maths). Prior to this, I achieved outstanding GCSE results at Weaverham High School. In October, I will begin my Master of Physics degree at the University of Oxford.
I aim to create a supportive and friendly environment, free of pressure, where you can discover what learning methods work best for you. I have previously helped younger students with GCSE and A-Level maths work, and am currently coaching a group of year 12s through their Oxford application.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball and learning guitar, bass guitar and piano.

- I understand that every student learns slightly differently, which is why I offer tailored sessions in a friendly environment, as opposed to a pressured environment.
- Lessons will last approximately 1 hour, and are aimed at students studying for GCSE or A-Level mathematics, or the Oxford Physics Aptitude Test (PAT). Additionally, I am happy to help with university applications, including building compelling personal statements and setting up realistic mock interviews.
- I can also offer casual sessions for people wanting to learn specific topics within mathematics. For example, you might need to learn some calculus for a new job, or maybe you are simply interested in learning some mechanics! Either way, I am more than happy to offer my services.
- I have previous experience teaching complex topics, through delivering presentations to students in years 10, 11 and 12, as well as frequently helping students in my own age-group with homework problems.
- I am also currently guiding a group of year 12 students through their Oxford application, giving them advice on the PAT, interviews and personal statements; information I have obtained through my own experience.
