About Tim
I have a B.A. in Child Psychology and an M.S. in Education. I fell into teaching math about 18 years ago in order to fulfill a need in our community and have stuck with it ever since. I love math and every day I work math problems for fun as a hobby. The more challenging the better. I am inspired by the elegance of math and try to inspire students in the same way.

I believe that teaching is very much a performance art and the material has to be taught in a way that breaks the material down so that the teacher can meet the student where they are. Much of teaching and tutoring is all about patience. I never rush or pressure my students. Like creating a work of great art the student must progress at THEIR pace. It is the only way to build self-esteem and motivation as a student. Small challenges well guided and explained is the way I teach. My lessons are particularly for those that are intimidated by math and are so frustrated they want to give up. I also have a background in Child Psychology which helps a lot.
