My teaching approach for Algebra is focused on making graphing intuitive and practical. I begin with the coordinate plane, plotting points, and understanding the concept of slope as rate of change. I teach slope-intercept form (y = mx + b), point-slope form, and standard form of linear equations, and show how to convert between them. I cover graphing lines using intercepts and using slope, including horizontal and vertical lines. I also teach how to write equations of lines from given information such as slope and point, two points, or graph. I use real-world examples like cost-revenue analysis, distance-time graphs, and supply-demand curves to show practical applications. I provide step-by-step solutions and use visual aids like graphs and color-coded steps to make learning easier. I assign homework that includes both routine graphing problems and application-based questions. I conduct weekly quizzes to track progress. I maintain a progress log for each student and adjust my teaching pace based on individual needs. I also provide tips for avoiding common mistakes, such as confusing slope and intercept or misreading graphs. I use graphing tools and online simulators to help students visualize the effect of changing slope and intercept. My goal is to help you confidently graph linear equations and understand their real-world significance.
