About Zohair
Teaching is a source of great pride for me. I like to help students become more confident in their abilities through practical projects and by teaching them in a manner that connects the theory with applications to practical Engineering problems. I believe that the professor should help in creating an environment that enhances the learning process for all students. The subjects should be covered in details, clearly, and at a reasonable rate where the emphasis would be on the quality of teaching and learning.
Faculty of Chemical Engineering at Widener University (One University Place, Chester, PA): Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering; Research Associate Professor (University of Maryland at College Park); Senior Project Development Chemical Engineer (Downstream) and Training specialist; Associate Professor at Qatar University (College of Art & Science); Senior Project Chemical Engineer (Diversified Matrix Incorporated - Richland, WA); Over 25 years’ experience with strong background in different areas as an assistant/associate professor, senior chemical engineer, training specialist and applied research scientist. Hold three university level degrees from USA. Work experience acquired from having worked in the private sector, government, and academia.
I worked in diverse positions (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Refining and Manufacturing, Material Testing, Corrosion Engineering, Environmental/Safety Engineering, Design Engineering, and Research (Fuel Cells, alternative fuels, Catalytic Reforming of Hydrocarbon fuels)). Have experience in project development and business analysis in Refining and Manufacturing supporting various industries in all aspects from conceptual design to the final stage. This includes coordinating and planning for new and joint ventures business opportunities, project estimating and scheduling, evaluating of economics and technical feasibility of the proposed ventures and major modifications of facilities, including evaluation of economics and technical feasibility of the proposed projects, development strategies to strengthen excellence in operations and encourage others to adopt successful models. Have strong organizational skills of building effective teams.
Have experience in management and engineering oversight of technical projects. One of the roles held was to lead and implement the quality assurance program for the downstream department and support others in achieving and maintaining industry leading performance in efficiency and reliability while striving to achieve the highest standards of excellence in cost-effective manners.
