About Sofia
While I have never officially taught English lessons, I have much experience tutoring American students in various subjects (biology, English literature, and philosophy). All of my students have shown significant improvement in each of their respective courses.

I am a currently a student at the University of Virginia studying philosophy, biology, and French. I just completed my first year, and I am spending my summer with family in Annecy as I have done since I was a small child. I was born and raised in the United States, and I am bilingual in English and spoken French, as my mother is a native Annecienne.
I am seeking to give informal English lessons (reading, writing, vocabulary, and conversation) to both students studying English in school (primary school, secondary school, or university) and adults who would just like to improve their English in a very easygoing and casual -- albeit highly instructive -- atmosphere.
My tutoring is specially tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. My friendly approach towards the instruction and study of language creates an atmosphere in which the student is not afraid to make mistakes or have fun. In doing this, I hope to guide each student towards a passion for the English language while giving each of them all of the tools that they need to succeed.
