About Vanessa

I am a well-educated professional linguist and teacher with over 35 years of professional experience in interpretation/translation, English teaching, remedial communications, and public speaking. I graduated from Portland State University (Portland, Oregon, USA) with a BS in Psychology/Sociology and minors in communications and applied linguistics. In 1980s I also graduated from the US government Defense Language Institute (DLI) to become a US government diplomatic interpreter in Europe. For the past 35 years, I have used my skills and knowledge to help people COMMUNICATE, learn, change habits, build solutions, and achieve their goals. I have taught English COMMUNICATION in several foreign countries, and in the USA. I have also taught remedial English to Americans with communication problems. Since 2010, I have taught English full-time, online and offline, to thousands of students of all ages and levels in over 48 different countries. I have taught English for companies, universities, primary and secondary schools, teaching agencies, language centers, language clubs, immigration programs, and private individuals.

About the lesson

Language is a performance art. My students learn by ACTIVELY COMMUNICATING in real world, whole English, every session. I engage my students in English that is useful in all areas of daily life, including business and academic English. My huge collection of high-quality English materials are of enormous benefit to my students worldwide. My students learn effective tips and habits that allow anyone to become powerfully fluent in English and build their dreams into reality. Students all over the world often tell me that I am kind, patient, humorous, highly knowledgeable, and really good at teaching grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, AND SKILLS that lead to fluency. Students often tell me how grateful they are for my teaching methods that have helped them SPEAK English FLUENTLY AND PROPERLY, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

Many of my students are preparing for exams [IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge C1,C2, Matura, etc.], immigration, job interviews, public speaking, or professional advancement. I will show you how to succeed and give you the tools to do so. Many students have achieved their goals with me. What about you? Are you ready? Let's go!

Currently, all sessions are online. Sessions are normally 55+ mins, but 27+ minute sessions are possible. Proofreading and editing services are also available. References and CV available upon request.
