About Riley

Hi there! I'm Riley and I have over 5+ years of teaching experience. I recently graduated from the University of Vermont with my Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Dance but always had a love for the Spanish language. I took Spanish from 10 years old through university graduation and knew that I wanted to become fluent.

A year after graduation, I was offered a contract to teach English as a second language abroad in Colombia. I've been living here for the past 6 months and teaching English at 3 different schools. Before that, I was living in New York City teaching all kinds of Dance such as Ballet, jazz, contemporary as well as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Waltz, etc. to ages 2 through 90 years old. I also worked at a school teaching Environmental Education to young children through a program called Brooklyn Rewilders in Brooklyn.

I love getting to inspire my students through interaction and engaging lessons and love watching their progress over time. What really sets me apart as a teacher is how my fluency through immersion

About the lesson

My teaching method is interactive, practical, and personalized to each student's level, needs, and goals. I combine grammar and vocabulary in my lessons but really focus on the conversational aspect of learning.

A typical lesson includes a short review, an introduction to new concepts, guided practice, conversation activities, and constructive feedback. I encourage students to ask questions, learn from their mistakes, and build confidence at their own pace.

My online lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, travelers, or anyone who wants to improve their Spanish for personal or professional reasons. I work with kids aged 7-18 as well as adult learners wanting to learn Spanish.
