About Lori

I am unlike most German teachers in the fact that I don’t believe that every student has to focus from the start ABCs and learn every grammar point in a set order. I know what it’s like to be sent to a country and be expected to perform when given a four months notice. Logic tells us we will never learn a language in four months. However, I believe - because I have done it - that any students of mine, if they know their objectives, can meet the goals that they have to meet with at least 75% competency if they plan appropriately. I also believe that the journey should be fun and that laughter should be a part of the daily journey. So my lessons include levity and lots of examples and stories of how to deal in the new culture.

About the lesson

I interview for objectives, timeline, job responsibilities, company supports. Then we will assess ability (written, spoken, reading, listening). I will provide a written report and recommended study plan based upon our interview data points. Once you have reviewed the plan, we will discuss and agree to final goals, class meet times/frequency, materials, and goal meet markers.
