About Ellington
Hi, I'm Ellington! I studied at MIT, where I earned my BS in Computer Science and my Master's in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and did machine learning research at MIT's Computer Science and AI Lab (CSAIL). Now I'm a software engineer in NYC.
Math, physics, and CS are what got me here, and I love helping students see that these subjects are learnable, not something you're born good at. I've been through the hard classes, the standardized tests, and the college admissions process, so I know what it takes and where people get stuck.

Method: We solve real problems together. I ask questions to find exactly where you're stuck, then explain it until it clicks, so you understand the why and not only the steps.
Typical lesson: Quick check-in, key concept, guided practice, then you try problems solo while I coach. We end with a recap and a few things to practice.
What sets me apart: I use this material every day at work, I've been through the college admissions process myself, and I'm patient. No question is too basic!
Who it's for: High school and college students in math (algebra through calculus), physics, and computer science. SAT/ACT and application support. Beginners welcome!
