About Helena
I'm a postgraduate educator, researcher and editor in Medical Anthropology, I obtained an MSc degree in Medical Anthropology and a BA degree in Anthropology and Sociology specialising in the anthropology of emotion, violence, art and the visual.
I have 5 years of experience as an ethnographic researcher and two years as an educator working on various subjects in A-level Sociology, History, GCSE History, English Literature and Creative Writing. This includes consulting and guiding students through the process of writing their coursework assignments and exam preparation.
I launched an online ethnographic journal this year working on developing submissions and contributions for our thematic issues. As the editor, I edit, draft and develop pitches submitted by artists, researchers and anthropology enthusiasts.
I am very committed to building the bridge between the creative arts and academia!

I have worked with students with diverse learning needs including but not limited to dyslexia, ADHD, and Global Delay. My methods are interactive and deeply creative to stimulate a personal kindling to the subject. This is a crucial component to developing an interest and develops into a discussion on the method of teaching with the student according to their sensibilities and needs.
I help students build a strong understanding of the anthropological branches (social, cultural, medical), and support them through anthropological concepts and topics, as well as their assignments, course readings, fieldwork and dissertation. Most importantly, I advocate for influencing anthropology and sociology students to carve out a niche in the discipline if they choose to continue further into higher education.
