About Zachary
I’m an anthropologist student at Augustana Univ in Sioux Falls SD and have been giving lessons to friends and family for years. I have also worked on chegg tutor helping strangers on there with their history homework. I have long been working to understand history/geography as for me it’s incredibly interesting to see the reason why things are the way they are now. I take great enjoyment in teaching this subject to others as i think history is a subject that is often pushed aside as useless but in actuality is one of our most crucial tools as if we are to understand our past, then we will be able to better predict for the future. One of my biggest inspirations to teach to people as well is my mom, who has been a teacher almost her entire adult career.

In the past I most commonly have tutored peers of my same age group or people younger than myself. Currently I am in college doing the same and I feel pretty comfortable teaching history to any level. I like to keep it pretty informal whilst teaching and really try to connect to the person I’m tutoring as it helps both of us learn more efficiently. During my sessions if the student doesn’t have any particular question I would give an overall synapsis of the event at hand then later break it down to hone in on the problem at hand. As for me as I’m sure it was for most people, history class in school was very boring as teachers commonly would list off far too much information in one stretch with no one really ascertaining any of it. For me I like to take several breaks throughout to give examples so along the way there is no doubt that the information got through. Also what I love about these tutoring sessions that’s so great is that students can ask questions at any time and I believe that no question is “stupid” and I hope with me anyone be able to learn something new.
