About Elizabeth
I'll be turning 21 this year! I initially moved to Canberra in 2019 to study medical science at ANU. However, after reading Richard Thaler's Misbehaving about the branch of behavioural economics, I soon discovered the economist within myself and transferred into a Bachelor of Economics. I am currently in my third year of studies. I am an observant, committed, and passionate person who loves any opportunity to share academic passion with others.
Qualifications and experience:
- Completed the IB diploma in high school (HL economics, physics, chemistry, and SL maths, english, and Japanese)
- Competitive rowing in high school, University of South Florida, and Canberra.
- 2019-2020 three month summer internship in Tokyo
- Distinction and above grades achieved throughout my degree
- I tutored students in high school who were struggling with economics and maths
- I have had first hand experience of the Japanese "Juku", in a major four-year chunk of my childhood living in Japan.

My teaching focuses on the goal of the student, while also maintaining an inquisitive learning style. One a goal is established, a teaching style and lesson structure that works best to achieve the student's goal is outlined - including an understanding of the student's current knowledge. I will produce a syllabus and lesson structure that will be given to the student so they can understand and prepare for what they will be learning each lesson. Every person has a different approach to learning, which is why I am unable to head into the first lesson with a strict methodology and structure for future lessons. My methodology is influenced by the student's learning style and their goal.
Economics is my passion, and spreading its beauty is something that is deeply important to me.
