My Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching approach is fun, interactive, and adapted to each child's age, personality, and learning style. I believe children learn a new language best when they enjoy the process and feel comfortable making mistakes.
As a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, I can help children develop their Spanish skills through games, songs, storytelling, arts and crafts, flashcards, and everyday conversations. I focus on building vocabulary, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and speaking confidence through activities that feel natural and engaging.
I encourage children to practice Spanish in a positive environment where curiosity and creativity are always welcome!
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is personalized to the child's level and interests, but a typical session may include:
* Warm-up (5 minutes):** Greetings, simple questions, and a short conversation in Spanish.
* Vocabulary (10 minutes):** Learning new words through pictures, flashcards, toys, or real-life objects.
* Interactive activities (15 minutes):** Playing games, singing songs, reading stories, or doing creative activities to practice the new vocabulary.
* Speaking practice (10 minutes):** Using simple phrases and sentences in everyday situations.
*Review and encouragement (5 minutes):** Reviewing what we learned and celebrating the child's progress.
Lessons can be adjusted depending on the child's age, attention span, interests, and previous knowledge of Spanish.

Who Are My Lessons For?
My lessons are designed for children ages 3–12, from complete beginners to children who already understand some Spanish and want to improve their communication skills.
I can help with:
* **Beginners:** Learning basic vocabulary, greetings, colors, numbers, animals, and everyday expressions.
* **Elementary-level students:** Building sentences, improving pronunciation, and developing listening and speaking skills.
* **Heritage learners:** Helping children connect with their Spanish-speaking family and feel more confident speaking Spanish.
* **Bilingual families:** Encouraging children to use Spanish naturally in everyday conversations.
* **School support:** Practicing Spanish vocabulary, reviewing class material, and completing age-appropriate language activities.
Every child learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to their needs and interests. My goal is to make learning Spanish a fun, meaningful, and rewarding experience!
