About Umair

I am an Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Researcher specializing in Computer Vision (CV), with primary focus on developing end-to-end edge-computing and video analytics solutions to address intricate real-world industrial problems. The core of my research involves the application of AI, Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) to create operational solutions. I am proficient in a suite of relevant tools including TensorFlow, PyTorch, SciKit, Keras, ONNXRuntime, and OpenCV to create video analytics solutions. My expertise extends to mastering NVIDIA tools, including TAO Toolkit, DeepStream, DALI, TensorRT, Replicator Sim, and NVIDIA Nemo framework ensuring the development of scalable and reliable industrial solutions. With hands-on experience working with NVIDIA edge computers like Jetson Nano, Jetson TX2, Jetson NX, and AGX ORIN, I have harnessed the power of latest edge hardware to benchmark and develop impactful solutions.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring as an applied AI consultant revolves around interactive, practical, and customized learning experiences. I engage students actively through discussions, hands-on activities, and real-world examples to demonstrate the practical applications of AI concepts. Each lesson, typically lasting 60 to 90 minutes, is tailored to meet the individual needs and learning styles of the students, ensuring comprehension and retention. With a PhD in Applied Computer Vision and extensive industry experience, including research fellowships and industrial collaborations, I bring both theoretical expertise and practical insights to my teaching. My lessons cater to a diverse audience, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, professionals seeking to upskill, and anyone interested in AI solutions for real-world problems, regardless of their proficiency level. Overall, I aim to empower students to understand and apply AI effectively, fostering confidence and a passion for learning in the field of applied AI.
