About Augusto
My name is Augusto Gonzalez Bonorino and I am originally from Argentina. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from Marist College (NY) in May 2022 with a double major in Economics and Data Science. Currently, I am a full-time professor of economics theory and econometrics at Pomona College. Moreover, I am working through my Ph.D. in Economics, where I focus on the application of computational models (such as large language models, agent-based models, and simulation-based inference) to economic research. I grew up playing rugby, soccer, skiing, and basketball. At 14 years old I switched to tennis, which eventually gave me the opportunity to pursue my undergraduate education in the United States on Division 1 athletic scholarship. I am a passionate advocate of interdisciplinary endeavors. My latest efforts in merging my interests with other sciences include learning quantum computing for my Honors thesis to solve high-dimensional Matrix Riccati differential equations. Moreover, I worked for four years in the subfield of AI called Natural Language Processing, particularly developing question-answering systems. Finally, a few years ago I started a blog on Medium called Entangled Mind (concealed information) along with a series of Udemy online courses on various topics - in Spanish - with my dad. Check the blog out and let me know your thoughts if you'd like :) At the moment, my research lies on the intersection between experimental/behavioral economics and Large Language Models ((concealed information) I focus on studying if LLMs can serve as computational models of human behavior, to then understand incentives within a system and their usage as substitutes of real subjects in costly field experiments. Outside the classroom, I enjoy many activities such as teaching, outdoor sports, reading, exploring new things or places, listening to music, and watching movies. I look forward to getting to know you better and helping you navigate your learning journey.

I am straightforward and organized. My lessons will be tailored to your level of interest and specific applications you have in mind. This can range from purely theoretical lessons to applied projects to master certain modeling frameworks. I am relaxed and very patient, always striving to find the optimal way to teach given the student's preferred way to learn.
Regardless of your initial level of expertise, my background teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level has prepared me to quickly adapt to your needs and provide a pleasant learning experience.

By the way he prepares for each lesson. Always considering the cost to the consultant and striving to give him the most for his money. I have benefited from his knowledge on several occasions with concise, to the point lessons.
Augusto has the talent, knowledge and motivation to teach and learn that is exemplary. Given the opportunity to learn from him would certainly be well worth the time. I have worked closely with him on projects in AI and machine learning and have always been impressed by his eagerness to understand complex problems and provide creative solutions.
Augusto is a natural-born leader. If there was ever a question, Augusto would know the answer. On the off chance that he didn’t know the answer, he would find a way to figure it out in a neat and expedient fashion. He is a genius. Everything that he puts his mind to is accomplished. He graduated with high honors from Marist College while also being a part of multiple extracurriculares. He is polite, well-respected, and trustworthy. Anyone who works with Augusto or gets help from Augusto is someone who is in good hands.
