About Tod

Algebra often feels like a secret language that excludes people, and I admit that I once felt that same frustration before I learned to translate it. My role involves making the invisible steps visible for the 400 students I have guided across 10 years of practice. I work with homeschoolers, struggling learners, and high schoolers to build steady confidence.

Math is rarely learned in isolation. I focus on context because I have spent 10 years doing algebra and teaching it simultaneously.

Each side sharpens my ability to break down complex ideas for my students. I want to see what you can handle alone. Feel free to reach out if you need a clearer path through these topics. You can see if my style fits your goals.

About the lesson

Focusing on the mechanics of math is how I keep students from losing the thread during our 60-minute meetings. Because I have 10 years of background in applied mathematics, I ensure that absolute value, slope, and linear functions are framed in clear, logical terms.

Diagnostic testing begins during our 1st session. This allows me to see exactly where your foundation needs reinforcement.

We will address quadratic equations, rational expressions, and exponents through direct, exam-focused work. My primary method involves isolating the specific steps that cause you to trip. You will find that I prioritize your individual independence over simple answers.
