About Harvey
I'm an Applied Physics graduate from Aston University but I'm primed to start my masters in September 2021 in Computer Science . I've always had a curiosity about the world and how processes work in nature and engineering and that persona lead me to Physics. My favourite topics in the subject range heavily but if i had to pick three it would be Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics & Special Relativity.

My students have explained my style (by topic) to be relaxed at start but progressively more difficult at the end. I'm a huge advocate for discussing topics in the early stages rather than completing questions, as it's far more easier to determine a students aptitude. I believe talking about topics whilst strategically testing knowledge through conversation is key and its been evident with my previous students. Many times students will understand how to answer a question but they wont know how to explain their method which entails a lack of understanding.
My tutoring strategy focuses on lengthening even the simplest of topics, discussing them, applying real world applications and providing a mixture of questions written by myself & their respected exam board. My lesson notes do not follow any common teaching methods like presentations but they'll consist of discussion & interaction via online software. My notes are written on my tablet and will never be shown to the student, I expect the student to follow my explanations and to write down notes on our discussions - I will always ask for a copy of their written notes to read through and ensure they have understood. I want the student to think on their own rather than copying my notes. I believe this is the key to learning more effectively and faster and has been proven with my previous students
To discuss my experience... I'm an Applied Physics graduate from Aston University but I'm primed to start my masters in September 2021 in Computer Science. I've taught OCR & AQA Physics at A Level and with GCSE I'll have understanding of everything in any syllabus. Theres not many Physics graduates in the teaching space so I hope I can provide greater detail and understanding with my fresh knowledge of Physics.
