About Tom
I am from a small town in West Yorkshire and was the first person in my family to attend university. I have recently completed my Masters in Critical and Cultural Theory at the University of Leeds and am currently in the process of applying for a PhD. I am providing tutoring in order to help support me in this process!
During my first degree, I also held a placement as an Outreach Worker at the university, specialising in widening university participation in the arts and humanities. I am therefore perfectly positioned to provide guidance and support relating to university applications more generally, especially for those who might be less familiar with the process.
In my spare time I also love to play the drums, and try my best to keep fit by going to the gym and playing cricket!

I take pride in my ability to develop lesson plans that are tailored to the individual needs of my tutees, working with a patient, encouraging teaching style that has been developed by working in classrooms with children and young adults from a wide variety of backgrounds.
I offer both 30 minute and 1 hour lessons, and my extensive academic background means that I am able to deliver lessons on a variety of interrelated topics such as English Literature, English Language, History, and Philosophy up to and including A Level.
