About April
I studied Maths, Further Maths, Additional Maths and Statistics at GCSE level and Maths at A level and I know the importance, having had such an amazing teacher myself, of being taught by someone who is passionate about Maths and passionate about teaching.
I have been tutoring for five years now. I started when I was 16, volunteering for my Duke Of Edinburgh Award at an after-school tutoring centre. Then I went on to having private students of my own at both A level and GCSE level in person and online. I have recently returned from travelling where I worked for 3 months in an alternative learning school in the Dominican Republic and taught Maths and English to various people on my journey.

In my lessons we figure out together what areas need working on and start from there. It really depends on the student whether we're revisiting subjects they've already covered in class to consolidate prior learning or whether we're learning ahead of lessons so that they're going into school with more confidence, one step ahead of curriculum. Regardless, I always give students questions between sessions of every topic we have covered so far so that they're constantly practicing and reinforcing knowledge even if they are topics we covered a long time ago.
