About Fyona

Daughter of a designer and an architect, I share with them our architecture office in Algiers. Franco-Algerian born in Paris, I grew up in Tunisia, after French high school, I flew to France, then finally moved to Belgium to continue my studies in architecture. I have always worked with my parents, attended seminars/conferences, traveled for biennials/exhibitions, and all these trips, encounters, life adventures led me to writing. I have always been a writer, musical editor, participation in writing competitions, my speeches and presentations of architectural projects in Seoul, Brussels, Algiers, etc.
My work and end-of-year master's dissertation in architecture refers to this search and desire for new things that I have always had. How to write, how is architecture written?
I have often been a private teacher, corrector and proofreader of end-of-year dissertations, president of the student office of my faculty, the call to sharing and teaching has always been heard in me. This is why today I am here telling you all this and offering you to share an experience together!

Teaching methods and learning activities:

The teaching methodology is organized around four stages.
- Inventive analysis (this notion calls on the principle of landscape analysis of Bernard Lassus) consists in going beyond initial ignorance, in order to approach questions of architecture or sites in their singularities and their potentialities. It is for each student to take a look, his own. [It is up to him or her to choose how to transcribe this knowledge, in which literary format.]

-The definition / attitude is the mental operation which consists in determining the content or contents of an architectural concept in writing by listing its characters from the inventive analysis. This mental operation is inseparable from the idea of commitment and attitude towards architecture. The result of this operation is expressed in the form of a written or verbal proposal stating an equivalence between the defined content(s) and all the known terms that explain coming from the proposed analysis. It is an operation that identifies a subject of concern and is generally part of a study to define a subject.
-The programming is a writing accompanied by diagrams and/or images of thought describing the various parts of the studied area, the constructions, the landscapes, the facilities, the actions or the conditions to be fulfilled in the execution of the project, c is therefore an ordered set of operations carried out in a given time. It is therefore up to the student to establish his intervention program according to his analysis and his definition / attitude in the identified and / or studied subject.

-The architecture is manifested by proposals for the spatialization of these three operations which are coherent, inventive and active with a vocabulary and an architectural grammar.

The student is encouraged to express himself, and find his voice/architectural path. It is above all an exchange and support for the student, where we highlight and highlight it. Everyone has their own way of understanding and acting, it's up to me, teacher, to find how to help my student to move forward with his reading keys.
