About Sujana

I'm Sujana, a name from Nepal. I used to struggle with math, but I've learned that with the right amount of time and patience, I can understand math and even start loving it. Now, I've completed IB A&A and AP BC Calc, and I'm currently in college taking math as a pastime from my architecture classes. On the side of high school and University, I tutor my two little brothers, cousins, and neighbors' kids. They've all managed to become better at math than their grade level, and have become confident in their math skills, overcoming their math anxiety. I'd love to help more people become ever so confident in their math, and show the practicality of math to be more than an assignment.

Math Tutor with an Architect’s Perspective As an architecture student with advanced math training through Calculus II, I offer a unique approach to tutoring that bridges abstract concepts with real-world applications. My dual background allows me to explain mathematical principles through visual, spatial, and practical examples—whether it’s using geometry to understand structural forces, trigonometry in design proportions, or calculus in analyzing change and motion. Teaching Approach: - Visual, concept-first methodology using architectural analogies - Problems explained through diagrams, spatial reasoning, and real-world applications - Emphasis on deep understanding rather than memorization - Customized explanations for different learning styles (visual, verbal, hands-on) Lesson Structure: 1. Concept review from the previous session 2. New material introduction with visual examples 3. Guided problem-solving with architectural parallels 4. Independent practice with immediate feedback 5. Summary of key takeaways 6. Personalized practice recommendations Subject Expertise: - Algebra (foundational through advanced) - Geometry & Trigonometry (with design applications) - Calculus I & II (limits, derivatives, integrals) - Math for design/physics applications - Test prep (SAT/ACT math sections) Ideal Students: - High school students preparing for STEM paths - College students in architecture/design fields - Visual learners struggling with abstract math - Students who want to connect math to real-world uses Unique Advantages: → Architectural perspective makes abstract concepts tangible → Focus on mathematical intuition and creative problem-solving → Patient guidance for math anxiety → Teaches multiple solution approaches → Connects theory to practical design applications Education Philosophy: • Math is a language for understanding patterns • Good teaching adapts to how students think • Mistakes are valuable learning opportunities • Goal is independent problem-solving ability Whether you’re preparing for exams, tackling a challenging course, or just want to deepen your quantitative skills, I’ll help you build confidence and competence. Let’s design your math success! Adaptive math tutor focused on clarity & confidence. I break down concepts step-by-step, blend theory with practice, and tailor lessons to individual needs. Patient, engaging, and exam-savvy. For K-12, college, or test prep—turning struggles into strengths. Let’s make math click!
