About Ophelia
"Traditional Appalachian music started in my house with simple jam sessions and tunes passed down by ear. That single striking fact defines my entire pedagogical style today.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. Having taught 103 students, I know how to make electric technique or blues progressions accessible. We work on chord transitions and proper tuning and maintenance until they feel natural.
It is quite rewarding to help guitarists find their sound through ear training. I truly enjoy the moment a student stops overthinking the mechanics."
