About Charolisa
Teaching voice feels like catching the resonance of a wood-paneled room. I draw on my BA in Ethnomusicology from UCLA to help absolute beginners and advanced learners alike understand the science of sound.
My persona is that of a retired folk musician who values the lineage of traditional singing. I am laid-back and patient with every student I encounter. Whether you are an intermediate learner or just starting, I keep things grounded in vocal health and care.
I keep the atmosphere light and focused on comfort. You can expect a relaxed space where your voice is the priority.

Good singing should feel as natural as speaking, so we focus on breathing control first. I build a personalised song list around each student's range to ensure you feel secure while exploring new techniques.
My lessons cover everything from diction and articulation to microphone technique and vibrato control. We work together on rhythm and phrasing to make sure your songs tell a story. My background in traditional music helps me teach performance confidence to anyone preparing for exams.
