About Ashley
Since we treat every instrument as a tool for expression, I find it useful to start by checking your current comfort level with reading tabs. My specific teaching style relies on a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum, which ensures that you are not just playing but actually progressing between our meetings. We will work together on barre chords and ear training until these sounds become second nature to your fingers. Because I have 13 years of experience, I know how to navigate the common pitfalls that intermediate learners face when trying to improve their acoustic technique.
My Bachelor of Music in Education provides the technical framework, but our time is really about your individual development. I promise to keep the work steady so you can always see the path forward. You will find that these sessions are structured yet remain very approachable. We keep the focus on small victories that build toward your larger musical ambitions.

I spend most of my time thinking about the mechanics of a guitar neck. Truthfully, I am still amazed by how much a simple chord transition can change a room.
My 13 years of experience are dedicated to helping working professionals and adults master their instruments. I have taught 338 students through my career so far.
