Music exists as a central pillar of my identity as a first-generation Canadian teacher. I started my professional path 13 years ago after completing my degree at UBC. Since then, I have mentored 174 students ranging from self-taught players to hobbyists wanting structure.
My approach relies on methodical observation of your current playing style. I enjoy breaking down music theory into manageable parts.
Working with adults allows for deep dives into improvisation and soloing techniques. I find that reading tabs accurately is a skill that changes how you approach the fretboard. You will notice progress once we establish a consistent practice routine.
