About Aviana
"Teaching exists because music is meant to be shared in person rather than through cold manuals. I hold a Certificate in Traditional Music from the Old Town School of Folk Music and have worked with 319 students throughout my career. My goal is to demystify complex fretboard patterns for working professionals and kids alike.
I love the guitar. The instrument serves as a perfect vehicle for the folk traditions I learned growing up in Newfoundland.
Whether we focus on chord transitions or power chords, my job is to translate those older sounds into your current practice. I keep the process simple. Looking forward to hearing about your musical goals and getting started whenever you are ready."

"Your first session usually starts with us putting the guitar aside to identify exactly which strumming patterns or scales feel the most elusive. It seems counterintuitive to start without playing, but clearing up misconceptions about rhythm makes the actual music much easier to produce. We focus on tuning and maintenance to ensure you feel confident holding your own gear.
Intermediate learners and professionals often find that my background in folk music provides a fresh perspective on improvisation and lead guitar. Every lesson includes a practice module to keep momentum high between our meetings.
These modules act as a guide so you never feel lost when you are on your own. My certification from the Old Town School of Folk Music means I can explain the theory behind your chord choices clearly. What specific style are you hoping to build into your daily routine?"
