About Heidi
While earning my bachelors degree in civil engineering, I took several upper level math classes that were helpful for my career. I have always loved math and had great mentors. I realized that I wanted to pursue math tutoring and I find great joy helping students overcome challenges. I am bilingual.

In 5+ years of my career, I have helped others in various ways that were struggling with math problems. I have also privately tutored high school students in Precalculus. During my time as a private tutor, students have shown improvement each week in homework and quizzes, as well as test scores.
Some things I have learned over the years are: 1. I like to ask a lot of questions. This helps to show me that the student understands the concept of the question, and that they truly understand what the question is asking. 2. I like to have a good rapport. I will help you with your homework by checking your work and working with you on similar problems. When I was a student, my mentors emphasized: practice + learn from mistakes + work a problem one step at the time = success. 3. Organization and structure are critical to solving problems. I feel it is valuable to teach my students how to be organized and structured while working out problems so they don’t get lost in the numbers. 4. Have fun and try to enjoy math, it’s difficult enough as it is. I would prefer to work with you online. I enjoy teaching at all levels and the best way to prove knowledge of a subject is to help someone else learn it.
