Archaeology, history and art are made by us and accessible to all of us. They can be understandable, fun and an amazing journey to make, and together we can understand Ancient Rome, from a small village to a huge empire, Ancient Greece, and their arts and culture.
I have been studying and excavating in Rome and Italy for years and will strive to individualize sessions or short courses to each student and their interests, curiosities and passions.
We will see together the latest on Ancient Rome history and archaeology with a lot material prepared specially for the lessons (photographs, books, illustrations and even virtual visits to archaeological sites).
Teaching has always been a pleasurable activity in my life. And it is even more so when the subject is my passion, art history, archaeology and ancient history.
I have studied law, design, art history and archaeology in different countries (USA, Brazil and Italy), and currently I am a postgraduate candidate at Sapienza University at Rome (first in the world rank in ancient history and classical studies). I have participated of Roman and Etruscan excavations throughout Italy and research cities, domestic architecture and urbanization in the Mediterranean.
In the last years, I have developed short courses on archaeology of Rome, Roman art history, ancient history, Greek art, Greek pottery art, in English language, for visitors or online students.
And also I have been teaching Italian and Italian culture for foreigners.
Took a short course on Roman history and archaeology. He was clear and concise, and used maps, photographs, plans and lots of materials that aids to illustrate the lessons.
He was clearly very very knowledgeable on the topic of all things about Roman history. He has experience in multiple excavations around Rome and Italy, and this pulls even more to help describing the digs around the forum and why the ancient Romans did certain things in the ways they did. It was a fantastic. Highly recommended!
Besides that Leonardo recommended me amazing books. Also, I end up taking Italian lessons, very didactic, enthusiast and full of cultural insights. Great for my next trip!
I highly recommend Leonardo. He is a terrific teacher!
Very friendly, patient, great method and didactic, intelligent, highly cultured, and manages to make the student interested in the classes with constant encouragement.
The lessons are adapted to my needs and we discuss the most diverse subjects of Italian culture and language. You cannot go wrong with Leonardo!
