What Sets Me Apart
Unlike tutors who focus primarily on technical skills, I help students understand how contemporary art institutions evaluate artistic practice.
Many applicants can draw or paint well. Fewer applicants can clearly explain their ideas, artistic influences, and creative process. Admissions committees often look for both.

My Teaching Method and Approach
My approach to art school preparation combines portfolio development, critical feedback, conceptual refinement, and application strategy. Having worked as a curator, researcher, educator, and arts professional, I help students understand not only how to make stronger work, but how admissions committees evaluate artistic potential, intellectual curiosity, and creative growth.
I encourage students to think of their portfolio as a narrative rather than a collection of individual pieces. Together, we identify recurring interests, themes, materials, and questions that reveal a student's unique artistic voice. Whether a student works in painting, drawing, photography, film, digital media, installation, performance, or interdisciplinary practices, I help them develop a cohesive body of work that demonstrates experimentation, technical ability, and conceptual depth.
My goal is to help students articulate why they make art, how their work relates to broader cultural and artistic conversations, and how to communicate those ideas effectively in portfolios, artist statements, interviews, and personal essays.
