About Elena Maria

My path is eclectic and over time it has led me to study and practice different forms of artistic expression, starting from the graphic-pictorial one to arrive at dance, video, theater. Naturally attracted by all these languages, I have understood over time the potential for individual and collective growth and transformation, the opportunity they offer to identify and communicate human processes with a view to evolution and care.

From 2014 I then approached art therapies, training in Clinical Dance Therapy and Clinical Art Therapy at the Lyceum Academy school in Milan and simultaneously being interested in different applications of artistic creativity in the service of health and training.

To a long experience of teaching, organization and cultural promotion with the Immagina association, I added the foundation of Stranifiori, a professional reality that deals with the design, organization, communication and documentation of cultural and artistic activities.

I have been collaborating for several years with the Educational Department of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, an important institution for the promotion of contemporary art.

I studied and continue to study dance and art with different masters, and I studied acting at the Tangram Teatro in Turin.

From 2019 I participate in the activities of the Association "è", dedicated to artistic languages as a tool for training, care and communication. I'm a member of APID - Italian Professional Dance Movement Association and teacher of Lyceum Academy. I carry out a personal research in the visual and performative field. I live in Turin and also work online.

About the lesson

Art therapy is an artistic practice aimed at promoting the creative resources of individuals, groups and communities to develop personal and social well-being. The term "therapy" refers to the concept of "health" as formulated by the WHO: "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not simply the absence of disease".

It is a non-verbal mediation intervention to promote and support mental well-being, characterized by the practice of the visual and plastic arts to express and elaborate personal experiences. It is used in the educational, social and health fields and as a means of introspection and personal evolution.

It is not necessary to have experience or skill in art to embark on a path: the practice is accessible to anyone who wishes.

Art therapists are certified and trained professionals in depth in the field of artistic languages and in helping relationships.

I refer to the ArtCare methodology, which starts from the approach given by Edith Kramer, inserting it in the theoretical frameworks of the Relational Psychoanalysis and Neuroscience.

Here are the main characteristics of the method:

- Through the reinforcements and encouragement typical of affective attunement, the conductor supports the participants during the process of artistic realization and personal significance.
- The climate of non-judgment is a fundamental aspect of the intervention, effective in promoting freedom and expressive authenticity, as well as in countering any experiences of inadequacy or frustration.
- Artistic materials are creative stimuli, each with its own characteristics from a sensorial and metaphorical point of view.
- The creative process is an opportunity to activate personal resources, experiment with different modes of operation symbolically and acquire a greater sense of self-awareness.
- The atelier is a space of expressive freedom based on some fixed and clear rules, useful to contain and protect the emotional experience.

NOTE: the meetings generally last 90 minutes and not just one hour. The rates indicated are per meeting, not hourly.

- I propose courses of 5 meetings on a weekly basis, renewable.
- The first meeting is paid later, only if you decide to continue the path.

SINGLES
- 5 individual meetings in the studio cost 250 euros.
- 5 individual online meetings cost 175 euros. In this case, the participant must obtain the necessary artistic materials on the indication of the therapist (indicative expenditure of 50 euros).

To participate in an individual course, write indicating days and times preferences. It will be possible to immediately arrange the first meeting.

GROUPS
- 5 group meetings in the studio range from € 150 to € 75 per person, depending on the number.
- 5 online group meetings range from € 125 to € 50 per person, depending on the number. In this case, the participants will have to obtain the necessary artistic materials on the indication of the therapist (indicative expenditure of 50 euros).

To participate in group tours, write indicating days and times preferences. On the basis of the various adhesions received, it will be assessed when it will be possible to arrange a first meeting for all interested people.
