My students have typically been in the 18 - 84 year old range in the non-credit sphere with the aim of giving them the tools and confidence to produce a body of work you they be proud of. Using the "ah ha" moments that made my own journey most fruitful (you will learn some things that almost no pro photographers, including teachers, know), as well as showing you my work with details of how it was accomplished.
I have been teaching courses related to artist development happily at NYU since 1989, and have hundreds of interview videos with some of my thousands of students on YouTube (search TLWheatman) for you to peruse to get a sense of what we can accomplish in very short time.
If you need me to travel to you and you are in Manhattan within 20 minutes there is no charge. Outside of Manhattan a prorated hourly fee (equal to the teaching hourly rate) one-way is charged.
I am fully self-taught, and spent 35 years (so far) as a working photographer (after being a full-time musician before that). My photo work covered many aspects of photography from fashion, advertising, publications, weddings, products, and now mostly fine art. I am experienced in nearly every aspect of the field in using small, medium and large format cameras, was an early adoptee of digital photography, and began teaching Photoshop in 1995.
