About David

David is a Philadelphia-area math and science tutor with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and 15 years of experience as a professional systems engineer in the defense industry.
Since 2014, David has worked full-time with students from middle school through college, helping hundreds of students improve their understanding, grades, and—most importantly—their confidence. He tutors Pre-Algebra through Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, and SAT Math.
David’s approach is different from simply showing students how to get the right answer. He teaches students how to think through problems. Students learn to identify and classify a problem, choose the appropriate tools and concepts, explain their thinking using the language of mathematics and science, and work toward a solution with carefully timed guidance.
He calls it the “C to A” approach: not just improving a grade, but building the skills and confidence that make future success possible.
David’s mission is simple: to make the joy and success of math and science available to every student.
Sessions are pay-as-you-go, with no long-term packages or commitments.

About the lesson

If you suffer from math anxiety and/or poor grades in math I can turn your experience 180 degrees (math lol) in a few sessions. It is not you. It's our one size fits all education system! If you are not the 'left-sided brain' type and the patterns and codes of math don't come naturally then you need my 'right-sided brain' approach! We will discuss math using the proper vocabulary. Talking through the problems together will enable you to see the problems in a new light and make them more enjoyable. You can classify problems and attach verbiage to the solution path. Math is a language after all!! Your recall will drastically improve as mathematics can become a story that you can remember. I have developed and tested this method for over a decade and it works! Please give it a try and it will change how you see math problems.
