About Alhena

Hi, I'm Alhena, an aspiring Dental student with a strong academic background, including Grade 9s in GCSE Triple Science and Maths alongside A-levels Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Having completed these qualifications recently, I understand the current GCSE curriculum and the exam techniques needed to achieve top grades. I know that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit their individual needs, helping them build confidence as well as subject knowledge.

Although I am beginning my professional tutoring journey, I have valuable experience working with young people through the Southwark Literacy Scheme, where I supported children with different learning needs, and as a junior tennis coach, where I developed strong communication and mentoring skills.

I pride myself on being patient, organised and approachable. My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling challenging topics and reaching their full potential.

Whether you're looking to improve your understanding, prepare for exams or achieve the highest grades, I am committed to supporting you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style and goals. I believe that building a strong understanding of core concepts is the key, so I explain topics clearly before reinforcing learning with exam-style questions and past paper practice. I also share effective revision techniques and exam strategies that helped me achieve Grade 9s throughout.
While I am beginning my professional tutoring journey, I have experience mentoring and teaching young people through the Southwark Literacy Scheme and as a junior tennis coach. These roles helped me develop patience, adaptability and strong communication skills. As an aspiring Dentistry student with A-level Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, I also have recent experience of the GCSE and A-level curriculum, allowing me to provide relevant guidance and practical exam advice.

My lessons are ideal for GCSE Biology and Mathematics students of all abilities, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve their confidence or work towards the highest grades.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, although I am flexible when it comes to the length of our sessions
