About Sandra
I have been in the early childhood field for 20 years in many different settings. I have been responsible for developing my own curriculum as well as used boxed curriculum. My preferred method for tutoring sessions is to make a unique blended curriculum that is tailor made for the individual student. This way their needs can be addressed as well as time spent on building their strengths.

Play is especially important to keep young learners engaged. My hour long session is broken into 15 minute activities to help grow young attention spans. I use fun movements, games and songs or phrases to help all types of learners stay actively engaged. An hour session is as follows: -A gross motor warm up such as yoga or animal walks to help strengthen our core or assist with crossing midline to help develop those necessary muscles. - A fine motor warm up or strengthening activity such as playing with theraputty. -Handwriting activity that I typically couple with letter and sound recognition. -A game to end the session that focuses on other academic skills such as patterns, counting, number recognition. My first session includes an assessment so that I can see what each student needs individually so I can tailor my sessions to their needs and continue to build on their strengths.
