About GAURAV
I’m Gaurav, and I currently work as an Assistant Professor of Economics, teaching Business Economics and related subjects to over 400 undergraduate students. I hold an MA in Economics from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University and a BA from the University of Delhi.
My path into teaching wasn’t just academic — before this role, I spent four years as a Human Capital Fellow at a foundation working directly with students from underserved communities, which taught me that good teaching is less about how much you know and more about how clearly you can meet someone where they are.
I grew up in Bangalore, studied in Delhi, and now live and teach in West Bengal — a journey that’s given me a wide lens on how differently economics gets taught (and understood) across India. That’s part of why I also write independently on economic policy, trying to make dry concepts feel relevant to everyday life.
I want to share my knowledge because I remember exactly how confusing economics felt before someone explained it well. I’d like to be that person for you.

My approach is simple: no economics without real numbers and real-world context. I start every topic by breaking down the core concept in plain language, then move to worked examples, then problems you solve yourself with me guiding you through the logic — not just handing you the answer.
A typical class runs through a concept, 2-3 worked examples, and a short practice problem to check understanding before we move on. I adjust pace based on how you’re grasping it, not a fixed script.
I currently teach Business Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and International Trade to over 400 university students, and I’ve spent four years mentoring students from underserved backgrounds, so I’m used to meeting people exactly where they are — whether you’re building board-exam fundamentals or working through university-level models.
These classes work for anyone genuinely curious about how economics actually functions — students preparing for exams, those stuck on specific topics, or anyone who wants concepts explained clearly instead of memorized.
