About Blake
I've spent the last decade practicing and learning physics. I originally wanted to be an astrophysicist and got to work with some really cool people investigating evidence for medium-mass black holes. I always enjoyed teaching so much, however, and when I discovered the PER (Physics Education Research) subfield I was immediately hooked.
I've taught introductory physics 1 and 2, both algebra and calculus based. The courses I've taught all had a major focus on instruction and, importantly, student-led education. This means I know how to teach you physics AND teach you how to LEARN, which is actually surprisingly hard!
I like my teaching to be adaptive, meaning if you need a little extra foundation in a particular area, we can build that foundation. If you know anything about physics, foundations are the key to success.

I am new to online tutoring and still learning my style! I will apply the classroom teaching skills I've developed during my career to give you a personal, full thought out, and engaging tutoring experience. My work is primarily concerned with how best to teach students physics, so I've had lots of practice to make sure that you are learning what you need to know, and gaining true understanding rather than just rote memorization.
