About Scott
I strive to teach students in such a way that they can appreciate the methodology and physical concepts in a deep manner (not just rote memorization). I have worked at 4 different universities as an associate professor in mechanical engineering over the last 15 years. In addition to knowing how to teach to a broad cross-section of students via lectures, I also can teach one-on-one in a tutoring environment. I truly love my profession and enjoy teaching!

I specialize in teaching Heat Transfer and Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) to undergraduate college students but can also teach working professionals and high school students.
What To Expect:
- We can meet via webcam (Zoom) or meet in person at public place.
- Topic-specific lessons (you tell me the topic) in the form of an informal lecture on the physics using PowerPoint. I will stop between slides to ensure you understand the topic and answer any questions you may have.
- Problem-specific lessons (you tell me the topic) where we solve several example problems together. I will help with the math, formulas, procedure, etc.
- Mix of lecture on physics and problem solving.
