About Kaila
I'm an experienced tutor who knows how to instill understanding so concepts stick long after lessons are through.
I have a PhD and MSc in Astrophysics and a BS in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Astronomy. I have 7 semesters of experience as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate level physics and astrophysics and 3 years of experience tutoring math and English for middle school, high school, undergraduate, and nontraditional students. I have worked with the IB curriculum and tutored across 2 countries.

Every student is different, so I tailor my approach for your individual needs. Math and science can be scary, but they don't have to be! I focus on understanding the "why", not just memorizing formulas.
I like to start by assessing the student's current comfort level via conversation and perhaps recent work. We can then dive into the specifics and work together to fill in the gaps and gain new skills. Above all, I value a safe and supportive learning environment.
I tutor physics, astrophysics, and mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, complex analysis, etc.).
