About Sam
My name is Sam. I am currently studying Physics and Astronomy at the University of Waterloo, and I am almost done my second year.
I have a huge passion for all things STEM, with a particular interest in physics, math, and calculus. These three are integral to my studies and I have built a very strong base in the foundational concepts.
When I took my first physics class in high school, I fell in love with it and decided to pursue it in my post-secondary education through astrophysics because I have always been fascinated by the cosmos. In physics, one needs a very strong mathematical mind, so I have developed very strong math and calculus skills as well.
I understand the struggles of learning the foundations of these subjects; I am confident that my lessons will help any student in the early phases of their STEM career.

In my teaching, I believe that a focus on the "why" is crucial to understanding concepts in STEM. I specialize in teaching mathematics and physics by breaking down concepts to the basics, which builds a strong foundation, and then applying them to practice questions to solidify understanding.
From my experience in university, I have learned that practice questions are the key to performing well on evaluations, so they are heavily involved in my lesson plans.
My experience as a STEM student has given me experience in knowing what does and does not work when it comes to being successful in school.
I focus on middle school and high school physics, mathematics, and calculus at any level; I am confident that my lessons will help any student improve in these areas.
