About Elliot
Hi, I’m Elliot. I’m 18 and have recently graduated high school. My passion for tutoring comes from my own experience in Year 12, where I didn’t initially perform as well as I wanted due to the way some content was taught. Once I began teaching myself and breaking concepts down in a simpler way, my understanding and results improved significantly. That experience is what motivates me to help other students avoid the same frustration and gain confidence in their learning.
I’m a sporty person who genuinely loves mathematics, and my goal is to help students understand it well enough that they enjoy it too, or at least feel confident using it. I believe that with the right explanation and support, any student can succeed.
This year I will be studying Mathematics and Computer Science online through the University of New South Wales, and in 2027 I will be relocating to the United States to commence a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley.

My tutoring focuses on building strong foundations by simplifying concepts first, then gradually making them more complex (from the ground up approach) because fundamentals are often missed or taught in a confusing way at school. Repetition is key to my teaching, as it helps students gain confidence and truly understand the content. Students are always welcome to bring homework, exam questions, or topics they find difficult, and I provide similar practice questions after lessons to reinforce learning.
Lessons are flexible in length, with one hour being standard, but longer sessions are available if needed for exam preparation or multiple topics/subjects.
I have tutored students aged 15–18 and have also helped teach Year 6 mathematics. I mainly tutor high school students (Years 7–12), where I help younger students build strong fundamentals and senior students develop problem-solving strategies and exam confidence. I am also able to tutor Year 5 and 6 students, but for younger ages, I recommend a tutor who specialises in early primary learning.
