About Eleanor
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 6 years of teaching and professional music experience, deeply committed to nurturing students’ technical skills, creativity, and love for music. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced performers preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been seeing students transform from hesitant beginners into confident performers who play with skill, expression, and emotional depth.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering musical expression, creativity, and personal interpretation.
I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises to ensure students develop a well-rounded understanding of music. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore and grow.
Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music, and I am committed to helping every student achieve their full potential.

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to create lessons that nurture technical skill, artistic expression, and confidence. Lessons are fully customised to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, balancing structured technical practice with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.
Motivation drives engagement. I help students set goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, cultivating perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for music. Communication ensures a collaborative and interactive learning environment, giving students the freedom to ask questions, express challenges, and explore musical ideas creatively.
Creativity is emphasised throughout every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop a personal artistic voice and a deep emotional connection to music. Integrity encourages disciplined practice, responsible effort, and respect for learning, building habits for sustainable long-term growth.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a well-rounded foundation in music. My methodology ensures students progress technically, artistically, emotionally, and personally, while developing a lifelong passion for music.
