About Alexa

I am a certified speech-language pathologist, and I have been working as an SLP for the last 7 years. During my time as an SLP, I have had extensive training and experience in pediatric and adult speech/language disorders. My areas of expertise are neurodiversity-affirming care, early intervention, AAC users, and receptive/expressive language disorders. I also serve many individuals who are seeking accent modification, stuttering treatment, and voice therapy.

I am a trauma-informed provider, and my goal as a clinician is to make you feel comfortable and safe. I know it can be nerve-wracking to face things that are challenging for you, and I'm excited to give you the confidence needed to communicate!

About the lesson

NOTE: I am only allowed to treat clients in GA, FL, MD, and SC. I am not licensed in any other states at this time. For all other students/clients that reside outside of my licensing states, we would be engaging in coaching sessions as opposed to a medically-based speech therapy model. Coaching entails us working towards actionable goals to promote improved planning and execution of daily routines.

I provide 30 minute therapy sessions that involve a combination of drill-based treatment, open-ended conversation tasks, and direct modification of communication. We might use text, powerpoint slides, and other visuals during our sessions as well. When we are working on your communication needs, I try to teach you why we are doing what we do rather than asking you to blindly trust my judgement. This is important to me as an evidence-based provider. I also send home exercise programs (HEPs) at the end of our sessions so that you can practice what you've learned at home.

I want to emphasize that my services are treatment sessions for speech therapy clients, and executive functioning coaching for students as opposed to "tutoring" in a traditional sense. This is why my rates are in the $100 range. Rather than paying 100 dollars/session, you would actually be paying $50 since my rates are time-based and I only utilize 30-minute sessions at this time.
