About Anna

As a native Italian who grew up learning the culinary secrets from the best in the business - my mother and grandmothers, my approach to cooking is deeply rooted in tradition, creativity, and the art of making the most out of available resources. I was brought up in a large family on a farm in the North of Italy, where we grew our own organic vegetables. This fostered my ability to create delicious meals using whatever was in season, a skill I'm eager to pass on to my students. My cooking philosophy is heavily influenced by the healthy habits of the Mediterranean diet, with an extra dose of indulgence on Sundays at Nonna's house, where butter and sugar ruled the kitchen! When I left Italy in my 20s, I embarked on a journey that took me to 9 different countries. I have a master's in International Relations and have worked in the Humanitarian field for more than 6 years. Each place I lived in enriched my love for cooking and opened my eyes to diverse cuisines, while my lasagna, focaccia, and tiramisu became popular requests anywhere I'd go! Although I have a flair for experimenting with various cuisines, my heart still beats for the simplicity and robust flavors of Mediterranean cooking, where the humble eggplant reigns supreme. My teaching approach is as diverse as my culinary experiences, blending authentic Italian techniques with international influences, all while maintaining a fun, interactive, and easy-to-follow format. Whether you're a novice in the kitchen or a seasoned cook, I invite you to join me on this delicious journey!

About the lesson

Drawing on my rich Italian heritage and international travel experiences, my teaching method is a blend of traditional Italian cooking techniques with a sprinkle of global influences. I also focus on resourceful cooking, teaching you how to make the most of available ingredients and minimize waste.

My in-home lessons are designed to make you comfortable in your own kitchen, cooking dishes of your choice. Whether you want to recreate classic Italian favorites like lasagna and tiramisu or explore lesser-known delicacies, I'm here to guide you. I take care of purchasing all the ingredients and together, we transform them into a delicious meal. These sessions can also be a fun, interactive activity for the whole family, including kids.

During the lesson, I provide you with detailed, written recipes, including any adjustments necessary, to help you recreate these dishes on your own. I'll guide you through each step while you act as the sous-chef, giving you the opportunity to practice and learn quickly. The aim is not only to teach you the recipe but also to build your confidence in the kitchen, ensuring you can recreate the magic of Italian cuisine any time you wish!

I offer an authentic, in-depth view of Italian cooking, with a creative twist inspired by my travels. My lessons are not just about cooking; they're about sharing the love for food, the importance of sustainable practices, and the joy of creating and sharing meals.
